Christmas is the time to celebrate, catch up with family and friends and enjoy all the delicious food. Unfortunately, a lot of Christmas foods and drinks can cause harm to our teeth. Here are a few handy tooth tips to keep in mind during the festive season –
- Try to avoid constantly snacking throughout the day, save yourself for the delicious main meals.
- It is okay to enjoy a sweet treat every now and then but try to be mindful with how many sugary treats you’re eating.
- Limit, if not avoid, hard lollies like candy canes. They are known to break teeth and fillings.
- Being mindful of the amount of sugary drinks you’re consuming, constant sipping can increase the risk of developing tooth decay and/or tooth erosion.
